Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak Flooring:

I was very happy with this flooring. I personally installed about 600 square feet. The 3.75 inch seemed worth the minimal added expense. At an inch over traditional hardwood you gain a lot more grain, and therefore a ton more character. Some bundles were almost entirely usable, while others had gouges, small pieces, and substanial warping. The bad bundles made instalation more difficult. The colors were consistant and beautiful if you like a lot of darks, lights, reds, and greys. I used oil based polyurythane which gave the wood a gorgeous amber color.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak Flooring:

Re-floored an entire house (1600+ sq. ft.) with select 3/4" red oak unfinished flooring from R.L. Colston. Great product. Uniform grain, as promised, and locked in together well for a perfect fit and nailing. I further enjoyed the great customer service from Lumber Liquidators' central office AND their more local store location when additional flooring was needed in a pinch to round out the job. I am very happy and very satisfied with all the end results. As far as I'm concerned, and from a cost and service perspective especially, Lumber Liquidators leaves the other major and minor supply stores far in the dust. The only slightly confusing thing-- which required some attentive math and bookkeeping-- was figuring out how the number of unwrapped bundles delivered correlated to the number reflected on the online order manifest. Other than that, I'd do this install again in a heartbeat with Lumber Liquidators come the next major house renovation (which I hope isn't too soon; my back needs a rest).

As a high brow finish carpenter turned weekend floor guy (for my own place) I was worried about buying from LL. Could I trust the product and actually get a consistent "select" grade? If you are looking for select Red Oak buy this product. LL and Colston deliver.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak Flooring:

Very good quality unfinished boards.[...]Very good price.6-10 white oak boards got in with the red oak boards and ended up being brown instead of red when stain was applied.
