Cheaper than any lumber yard I priced, good quality paint grade material. I even selected enough straight grain from the bundles to use for repairs as heart pine.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 3-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:

I purchased this pine to fill in damaged areas in 100-yr-old heart pine floors and extend through new kitchen...my very experienced carpenter expected 20-30% waste due to knots/warping/bowing, but the product was MUCH better than anticipated-probably only 10% unusable(enough left to redo 2 stair landings) ...I've recently ordered stair nose from LL to finish job. Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 3-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:

I bought this flooring to match the rest of my 80+ year-old house. The flooring was good quality for the money, but there are some decent sized knots that had to be cut out, which increased waste a bit. Order at least 20% more than you need to accomodate for the extra waste. This flooring was a bit more difficult to install over some pre-finished types I've worked with in the past. For example, the factory ends weren't square, which resulted in each board having to be trimmed to insure a good fit. There is a wide color variation in the flooring, but I actually like that, so it didn't make much difference to me. If you don't mind finishing the floor yourself and are a competent installer, this flooring is a good deal.

Almost none of the ends were at a 90 degree cut. I thought they would at least be square on the ends.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 3-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:

this is a good material although it is soft as is all pine. I used it all throughout our upstairs during a remodel on our home recently and we are pleased with how it turned out. Sands and finishes well. I used 2 coats of polyurathane and it looks good.

you do have to work with it though. I used #2 and it was mostly good but some of it looked like it had been on a job before b/c there were specialty cuts on certain pieces of wood. But overall-- a good deal on some nice material.
