I installed the flooring over a cement slab. I put the membrane down first (it will remain tacky, or as the rep said like a someone poured a soda on the floor). I used a lot of glue and I could barely stand up for a week after the install. I'm still getting glue off my skin. I've taken "flooring" off of my career choices. If you can afford it have someone else put it in

We installed these floors ourselves. We partially laid it out prior to installation so we could get a handle on the pattern and avoid any common seams. Once we decided how it should look we began to nail it down. It took a little practice with the first few boards, but then after that we worked quickly. It's best to have two people. When my husband was working alone the job went slowly, but when we worked together it was much faster. I measured and made any cuts while laying out the row while my husband came behind me to tighten the seam and nail it down. From the time we ripped up the carpet to when we set the final nail, the entire job took three days (about 6hrs/day). We rented a pneumatic nailer from the local hardware store. It hooked up to our (very samll) 2 gallon air compressor. We worried we would have to rent something larger, but it worked perfectly and made the job very manageable.

I found the product installed very well, looks great, but can't attest to durability since it has only been down about a month. Received many favorable comments so far.
