Before and After: September’s Top Makeovers

It’s Fall Flooring Season at Lumber Liquidators and we’re bringing you three of our favorite customer home makeovers this month! From Pennsylvania to California, these customers upgraded their homes with three of our favorite trends this year – exotic hardwood, distressed styles and wide plank floors!

Interior Designer Abbi Williams says, “It’s inevitable for your decorating tastes to change over the years, but your house? That’s built to last. As a designer, I recommend selecting a floor that complements the architectural style of your home as opposed to your existing furniture. That way, your hardwood is installed to withstand the test of time and your furniture can evolve as you do.”

Solid Hardwood:  Cumaru

Top Trend: Exotic

“New Cumaru Hardwood in all three rooms. Great product! Very little waste!” – Brian, PA

Engineered Hardwood: Tobacco Road Acacia

Top Trend: Distressed

“The floor is complimented anytime someone is here. Very satisfied with the product and how this particular floor matches colors and lighting of any type!” – Kent, GA

Bamboo: Scarlet Night

Trend: Wide Plank

“We’ve been at our home for 10yrs and we decided to change things up…we had to strip out the green carpet, yes green carpet…we couldn’t be happier with our choice of bamboo flooring.” – Mike, CA

Best of luck to all this month’s remodelers! Here’s a final thought from a man who knows homes:

“For many reasons, both aesthetically and practically, homebuyers are generally drawn to hardwood floors as opposed to carpet. As does anything else, flooring trends do go through some change. While hardwood never ‘goes out of style,’ new homes are featuring aesthetic changes to flooring such as wider planks and different washes.” Josh Altman, Celebrity Realtor
