Happy Monday, readers: Hope you are having a great Memorial Day! Another week means another round of Before and After submissions, and as always, we’ve selected our favorite home makeovers to show those homeowners our appreciation. From oak to bamboo, here are the featured transformations for this week:
Marlene Ehret – Bristol, IN
Between a new coat of paint and our glossy Classic Gunstock Oak, the difference in the Ehrets’ living room is like night and day. A finished hardwood floor is just what they needed to open the space and create a warm, natural ambiance. “We love the product,” Marlene wrote to us – and we have to agree!
Amy Junes – Burtrum, MN
Nothing quite undermines a room’s décor like worn, discolored carpet. Luckily, Amy traded her old carpet for our Antique Handscraped Bamboo, completely transforming her bedroom in the process. The bamboo’s rich tones evoke a comfortable warmth, while its hints of dark grain give the room depth and contrast. Great job, Amy!
Jeremy Ennis – Garner, NC
It’s hard to show the transformation of an entire house in just two pictures, but Jeremy’s first picture gives us a good idea of the process. Except for the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room, the Ennis family’s home was completely covered in 12-year-old carpet, which they removed and replaced with our Lake Toba Teak Laminate. “I think the picture says it all,” wrote Jeremy. “We only wish we had done it years ago!”
Ken Bearden – Coal Valley, IL
The Beardens wanted to separate their living room from their dining room, so they tore out the carpet in the latter and installed our Woven Ginger Bamboo. Not only did the bamboo create a clear distinction between the two areas, but its deep colors and gorgeous sheen also brightened their dining room considerably. Ken loved the Woven Ginger Bamboo so much that he installed it in his kitchen, too. “The bamboo floor is all done and it looks fantastic!” he told us. Well said, Ken!
Laurie Meiresonne – Milan, IL
Laurie decided to replace her outdated kitchen tile with our Carbonized Bamboo, but she didn’t stop there: She also installed the bamboo in three more rooms as well as in her bathroom and laundry room. Her new kitchen floor’s soft finish and warm gradient works wonderfully with the grain of her cabinets. “Absolutely love the results!” she wrote. So do we, Laurie!
