Featured Floor: Virginia Mill Works Seabrook Island Oak

Do you prefer a handcrafted floor that reflects a simpler time in America? Do you want quality craftsmanship, incredible durability, and high-end design but don’t want to sacrifice an arm and a leg for it? If you answered yes to any of these questions, our Virginia Mill Works Seabrook Island Oak might be the perfect choice for you. We featured Red Oak last week, but the star of the show this week is definitely White Oak – another popular flooring choice in American homes today. Distinctive coloring, open graining, and a weathered appearance make this a one-of-a-kind floor. Brighten up your home and your life with our Seabrook Island Oak today. Read on to see why it’s our Featured Floor of the week.

White Oak is a popular flooring choice …

The heartwood is a light brown color, while some boards have a pinkish tint or a slight grayish cast. The sapwood is white-to-cream tone. White Oak’s grain is largely open, with longer rays than Red Oak and occasional swirls and burls, so it’s simple yet elegant. And don’t worry, its look sacrifices nothing in terms of durability and performance. Just as Colonial Americans valued detail and quality in their wood so too does Virginia Mill Works.

It’s handcrafted …

Colonial American homes were built with wooden floors that were sawn using basic hand-held tools. While years have passed since then, the same handcrafted workmanship that went into those floors can be found in Virginia Mill Works distressed floors. Our Seabrook Island Oak features a natural, worn appearance that closely resembles floors from the days when they were finished by hand. The best part is that this flooring is proudly made in the U.S.

It’s meant to withstand daily life …

While this product is a nominal 3/4 inches thick, the thickness may be as thin as 5/8 inches in some areas due to our scraping process. However, our flooring is built to withstand the daily pressure of active living. You can rest assured, we’re committed to providing a quality floor that will remain beautiful for years to come. To install, all you’ll need are some standard flooring nailers or staplers. However, if you’re uncomfortable doing that, you can reach out to a Lumber Liquidators’ flooring specialist; we’ll work hard to install your dream flooring promptly. At the end of the day, you won’t help but smile at your new living space.

Our customers love it …

Darilitch of Brooklyn, NY, took a chance with Lumber Liquidators by installing our Seabrook Island Oak in their kitchen. What makes this flooring an optimal choice for the kitchen is that it’s designed to be durable enough withstand the occasional spill, heavy foot traffic, and active children or pets. Its light coloring also adds much-needed dimension to a relatively small kitchen – where any additional space is highly valued. It perfectly complements the white cabinetry and lends a sense of cleanliness to the space as well. The room gets a major facelift in terms of brightness because the planks beautifully reflect natural and indoor lighting. “Our new kitchen floor is beautiful, and we got it at the right price,” Darilitch wrote. “Great product, couldn’t be happier.”
