Used it under clicklock Morningstar bamboo. I did not experience any of the tearing and folded up problems some mentioned. It was installed above grade over OSB and in addition to taping the strips together with the attached tape, I stapled it about every 18" around the perimeter which allowed me to carefully walk on it with no problems of tearing. Easy to cut with scissors or sharp utility knife. Inner end of the rolls were hung over the staircase and almost all the wrinkles were out the next day.

We used this product as an underlay for original hardwood flooring install. This product helped protect the subfloor after a dishwasher leak. We used this product again when hardwood flooring needed to be replaced due to dishwasher leak damage. We like that's it is made out of recycled materials and reduces floor noise. Good value for 100 sq ft.

Even though the laminate flooring had underlayment already attached we added this for the vapor barrier and for extra cushioning. Made from recycled materials so it made me feel good too! Worked out very well.

My installers are using the Eco sound underlayment on a wood sub floor on our second story. At the end of each piece there is a clear plastic strip about 2 inches wide. They are not cutting off the excess but leaving it and laying the next underlayment piece with the adhesive strip on top. We are hearing noise in the areas where the clear plastic is underneath the floor. Is this normal? Should the installer have been cutting off the excess clear plastic? He is going to proceed by cutting off the excess but for the areas that are already laid down, I may have him completely pull it up and redo it. Please let me know if you've had this issue and if you kept it this way, if the noisy plastic sound ever goes away!!!

The installation instructions for Ecosilent HD state that for floating floor over concrete the adhesive strip of the underlayment for the first row is to be laid next to the wall. Does that mean the adhesive strip is to lay flat on the floor next to the wall or that it lays vertically against the wall with the actual pad section of the underlayment running along the wall?

It sounds like you may be confusing the adhesive strip side with the moisture barrier film (flap) side, the flap will face the room (away from wall).

For installation of 12mm laminate flooring over concrete slab, I would need 6mm plastic sheeting in addition to the Eco-Silent underlayment under the laminate? Also what type of tape would be needed for the 6mm plastic sheeting and underlayment?

Yes that is correct. Over lap the seams on the 6 mil poly sheeting 6"-8" and use duct tape to hold the seams together. Thank you for your inquiry.

I am going to be installing a floating bamboo floor using your Eco Silent HD Underlayment. What kind of tape do I use to tape the seams of the underlayment? Do I use tape or something else?

This has a self adhesive strip w/ overlap flap on the side, use a waterproof tape (duct) to seal the butt joints.

You need tape. For floating and nail down installations, roll out underlayment
with tape strip next to wall. Roll out next row in same manner
butting underlayment close to first row (do not overlap) and
covering the moisture barrier film. Remove the tape strip and
secure the overlapping moisture barrier film.
