Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

This looks great and feels great. It's not easy to clean and scratches easily

        Service and delivery comments:

Our store let us keep it there until we were ready. We ordered during a sale, but wasn't ready right away to put it down and we didn't want to move 2000 pounds of flooring twice.

I added these floors to my living room and love them. I have had them for almost a year now. They hold up very well to my lab, 2 cats and 10 year old son.
The great thing is, if they ever do get a scratch, it will just add to the beauty. I did not want a floor with a solid color that will show every little scratch or scuff. I live in my house. We are hard on our floors and these floors take the abuse and look amazing still.

The flooring is beautiful and I love the way it looks, but am disappointed in how easily it scratches. I was told by the flooring saleman that bamboo was the hardest wood flooring we could get. It has gotten so many scratches from furniture and other household items that I wouldn't have thought were particularly sharp. EVERYTHING in the house needs felt pads underneath it!

An unexpected bonus is that the floor is significantly quieter then the flooring we replaced.
The floor is a little more difficult to mop because of the texture but love the look.

End results were great but there were a few glitches with the order. I can't stress enough that you should check your order multiple times at every step along the way. We purchased from the Fenton Mo store #1058. Staff were friendly and helpful. When problems were discovered with the order they did their best to fairly take care of the problems.Nice people to work with. We used Steve's Flooring for the install. Steve used some creative techniques to make it work and he deligently worked to make sure it turned out right. Dillon, Justin, and Joe(George) were great working with him too.The floor was installed in the kitchen, hall and living room and has been down over a month now. It is easy to keep clean, so far no scratches or dings. I did get a splinter once and am hoping that was a fluke and won't happen again. Bottom line we love the floor and are extremely happy with how it turned out. And we highly highly recommend using Steve's Flooring if you need an installer.

                                    • High traffic

We purchased this product to replace carpet in the high traffic areas of our desert southwest ranch home. As parents to 4 lively boys and owners of a small suburban ranch, we needed a product that would stand up to lots of foot traffic, desert dirt and even an occasional rogue chicken. We also wanted a product that could withstand spills, dripping pool traffic and wet mishaps. I can't say enough about the how well the Anji Bamboo has met these needs. We have used bamboo before but this product is significantly higher quality and it looks like a million bucks.

We purchased 800 feet from our local store and found that is was extremely easy to install. We used a glue down method to attach the flooring to a wood subfloor which was glued to the concrete foundation by previous owners. Of course, glueing down is expensive (added about 25% to the cost of the floor) and messy, but the wood cuts easily and is very easy to work with. Make your life easier by investing in a generous supply of nitrile gloves and disposable glue tools. Be attentive to wear on the exposed tongues. Rough handling can damage the tongues and made the boards difficult to place.

I would caution buyers to consider the color of the wood carefully. We visited the store several times and brought 10 samples of Anji home so that we could see the 'variety' of colors represented in a usual box of wood. However, when we opened our many boxes of wood at home we found it to be MUCH darker than any of the samples that we were given, much darker than the large sample at the store, and much darker than the images online. The flooring looks beautiful and the color is rich and dark, but we needed a lighter shade to better camouflage the desert dirt that invariably blows and is tracked into our home. We've minimized the issue with throw rugs at each door, but I still wish that the flooring was more consistent with the samples that LLs distributes to customers so that we could have made a more accurate decision.

can this product be used in the kitchen and bathroom? when my large dog drinks from her water bowl she makes a mess. will it ruin the finish if it's not wiped up quickly? i have approx 600ft of slab and 600ft of wood sub-floor where i will be flooring. can i float both sections or do i have to glue over the concrete and nail over the sub-floor? thanks

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

                                        Thank you for writing in.
All wood products are affected by environmental conditions, especially prefinished materials.
To control wood movement- expansion or shrinkage- it is recommended to acclimate the new flooring in the areas to be installed, not in (garages, U-Haul trailers, sheds, or tents) to normal lived-in conditions while in the boxes. If the products are protected in plastic then open the ends of the boxes. Length of time is not the determining factor. The goal of acclimation is for the core of the product to reach an equilibrium or moisture balance of the new flooring with its surroundings before installation or fastening. This balance could be achieved in as little as 1 to 5 days, or longer for some dense or oily exotic species.

                                        Avoid shocking the floor.
Just like you, wood actually performs best with consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Very dry or humid regions of the country usually require extended conditioning. Maintaining the recommended acclimation levels even after the installation should be viewed as ongoing floor care. Your doing so will help to minimize board movement, excessive squeaks, finish cracking and gaps.

Hygrometers sold in most Target and Wal-Mart stores ($10-$45) can be used to easily identify the need to regulate the humidity or air moisture.
In addition, to prevent board warping or bowing, do not cut the plastic support bindings on the outside of the packaging until ready to install. Store products flat, in a dry place. Provide air flow under and around cartons. Do not store directly on bare concrete or next to outside walls. Cartons should be placed as close to the center of the installation area as possible.

Proper jobsite conditions, acclimation and moisture testing of the subfloor along with the new flooring all works together for the success of the installation and is the responsibility of those overseeing the project.

You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the installation tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.

Intense direct sunlight may fade bamboo products.
All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.

This Bamboo flooring is Made in China, and is not subject to CARB (although we ensure that it does) and it is perfectly safe.
We abide by CARB regulations. See - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/sustainability/health-and-safety/?
I am sure you have concerns with the Bamboo as some people do.
Bamboo does have a distinct pungent, odor that is somewhat unpleasant when you are not used to the smell of Bamboo flooring. If you add in the fact that it sits for quite some time in a ship hold, boxed and wrapped in plastic. So it's only natural that it will release an initial smell from the finish as does any product that has been pre-finished and boxed up in this manor for this length of time.
However the good news is it should quickly dissipate.
The MSDS sheet for the Morning Star that should answer most any additional questions you may have. I assure you Morning Star Bamboo meets and exceeds any and all European and United States standards. (The Morning Star has a Free Gaseous formaldehyde of less than ≤0.10ppm) which is significantly lower than the requirement set forth by the controlling councils.
Yes; It is a absolutely safe for you and your family.
Unfortunately there are some people that are "hypersensitive to certain odors" and may react adversely to this product.

Thank you for your interest in our flooring products.

I bought 344.28 ft2 of Anji Bamboo nail down flooring in Jan. 2014 and it looked just like the pictures (honey colored). We liked it so much, we decided to buy the same amount for two adjacent rooms. When I opened several of the boxes, I found the color to be dark like the Hazel colored bamboo. When I contacted the store they said that was the color now. What gives? Your adds show the same color as our original purchase, although it is now called Honey Strand
