    • it is crackling under the floor when temp change

    Best Uses

when the temperature changes, it seems that it is crackling under the floor when it is first walked on. hopefully, over time, this stops. when rolling it out, if it is not laying perfectly flat, it will bunch a little and be difficult to work with. it is definitely a two person process!

I recommend this product, it is heavy mill paper that appears very sturdy. Was stated to me when I bought my laminate flooring that if this paper was not placed down and the warranty was needed to be used, it would not be covered. Cheap cost to insure your warranty is intact!

It is a geat product however, I don't really know if I had to use it because the flooring I bought already had a padding add to it for moisture.

Installing nail down 3/4 hickory in second floor bedroom. Is it OK to use this? or will this creating a vapor barrier I don't need? Installing in 4 season location with heat in winter and Central air in summer

                  A:

A vapor barrier is not required over a conditioned living space, but it would not cause harm if used.
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk. Thank you for your inquiry.

              • Q:

I have 1/2 inch thick engineered hardwood going over a wood subfloor with radiant heat tubing stapled directly below subfloor so I'd rather float the floor than staple or nail it because I dont want to hit a pipe. I'm in need of an underlayment with as little R value as possible. So my question is can the silicone paper be used as an underlayment for a floating 1/2 thick engineered hardwood floor?

Unfortunately not, you will need an appropriate "supporting cushion".
