In 2001, Erik Weihenmayer became the first blind climber in history to reach the summit of Mount Everest!  Now he is a board member of No Barriers, an organization that helps people of all ages and physical conditions overcome obstacles and live adventurous lives. The organization is based on building support systems and experiencing challenges that push program participants out of their comfort zones.

“Participants, whether they are wounded warriors or urban high school students, often use one word to describe their No Barriers experience: ‘life-changing’.” –

Lumber Liquidators is dedicated to quality; in our products and in life. That’s why we proudly support No Barriers in helping individuals overcome barriers and live high quality lives! A $50,000 donation was made to the 2013 No Barriers Summit, held in Colorado in August to give participants a chance to experience life to the fullest. The Summit provides opportunities for people with and without disabilities to take part in adventures they never thought possible.

“Being a quad amputee, I didn’t really have the intention to kayak. But the Summit staff just rigged something up in about 15 minutes with some adaptive equipment. It blew my mind. That’s what No Barriers means to me. Just jumping in and doing it. I think that anybody that’s on the fence as to whether or not they are coming to the next Summit, GET HERE!” – Kyle Maynard, Quad Amputee and Mountain Climber
