Q:My local store says that the nonslip latex padding is not in stock and not available. Need to know what kind of padding can I use under my area rugs over my morningstar bamboo flooring that will not cause discoloration or damage to my floors. I know that rubber is out of the question.
A:There are many brands of no-slip under pads for rugs available at home centers and retail stores that are "hardwood flooring safe." I got mine from Walmart.
Q:If an area rug 5 by 8ft has a natural backing is it necessary to place a pad under it> If so what is recommended?
A:These no slip pads prevent area rugs from sliding around and also help protect the wood floor from getting scratched from rough backed carpets.
Q:question I have a six pound minpin/ratterrior mix and we just replaced old old carpet with laminate flooring and yes we did get the pet friendly kind. with most lil dogs you will have the occational accident if mom or dad don't make it home in her potty window which usually doesn't happen but if it does she will potty on a rug. is there any type of backing I can get to put under my area rugs in case she does this I just don't want it to happen and it to seep into the flooring and have it ruined. how long can water stand on laminant before it is ruined a few minutes, hours etc please advise thank you. just looking for more options then the put her in a large crate with all the amenities until we return home that will be one large crate lol. chances are she wont pee where she eats and sleeps. so the crate is probly the best option I just hate to do that for the occational accident.
A:This pad could help reduce transmission of fluids to your flooring however it is not moisture proof. It is not recommended to place any non-permeable material over a wood or laminate floor for fear of trapping moisture underneath. This pad is breathable. I suppose a poly sheeting piece, if very small, could be used under a small rug and it could be okay. Anything large may harm the flooring in time.
