It is what it is, cheap flooring. The most annoying thing is the stickers stapled to the end of each board. I spent more time removing the stickers and tapping in the staples than installing the flooring.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 5-1/8" x 6' New England White Pine:

This stuff isn't bad for the price. There's LOTS of knots. I don't mind a few knots, but every piece has at least one knot and usually 3 knots. I ordered about 20% more than I needed instead of 10% and I'm glad I did. The other fault is that every end is usually out of square. I have to cut a half inch or so off the end on every piece.

With all that being said, I really like the finished look of the product. It's light, easy to install, and the tongue and groove joinery are perfect fits.

              Service and delivery comments:

All of the pieces came unpackaged. When I say unpackaged, I mean on a pallet with a couple plastic straps. Many pieces were blackened up pretty good from shipping and handling.

This is a good option for a slightly distressed look. A lot of the planks have cut marks, chips and dents. That is fine for me as I was going for that distressed wood look. This is a soft wood not a hardwood. I would recommend using Waterlox finish for this floor. The Waterlox will strengthen the wood fibers and help resist gauges and scratches. Also the lighter color finish will make those scratches less noticeable vs. a darker stain.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 5-1/8" x 6' New England White Pine:

We bought approximately 2200 SF for flooring in our house we're building. We typically are DIYers but due to time constraints, hired a professional to install. Initially, our pro was not pleased with the product. He noted, and we agreed, that the side with chamfers appeared to be more "finished" than the flush, flooring side. He also was not pleased with the imperfections (noted by LL in description as knots) and showed us that the bigger issue was not the knots, but ragged edges on the sides of the board that if left would create divets in our floor to catch toes and dirt. These ragged edges were an issue as were edges damaged from the tie downs. LL does note that these boards come open and unboxed. By that they mean that the tie downs are clamped pretty tightly and can damage boards.

Our pro also mentioned that when cutting off damaged areas, you have to make sure that you get a square cut so that the floorboards lie flush.

So, the 10% estimate on throw-aways due to imperfections was higher for us.

However, after installation was complete, our pro told us that the flooring lies very well and is easily installed, and we are pleased with the end result.

We still plan to rent a drum sander and edger to sand the entire surface put down 2-3 coats of poly. This is to protect the floor and our feet rather than to achieve a specific look. So, know that you're getting into some work. Time and labor intensive, but it's the cheapest solid wood floors we've found and we're pleased with the look.

We recommend that hardwood floor finishing be done by a professional, a water-based floor grade finish would be recommended.
Stain can help minimize color change, without it pine is destined to yellow to a certain degree. Check with the finish manufacturer for compatible sealers.

This product needs to be "finished" to protect the raw wood.

the description states "one length". What is the length? I would like to know if this will be suitable for a vertical Wainscotting at ~40" but I do not want vertical joints.

                              CLOVER LEA PLANTATION- 3/4" x 5-1/8" x 6'.
6' is equal to 6 feet or 72" (so you would be wasting 32" per plank).
                              I would recommend SKU: 10005896: CLOVER LEA PLANTATION- 3/4" x 5-1/8" x 8' for less waste.
                              Thank you for your inquiry.

Can you let me know what are the exact specifications of the boards? I am looking for the width with the tongue, and the width of the board facing itself (without the tongue) I am trying to match it up to boards already installed so these are essential.

Actual face width is 5-1/8", the tongue is an additional 1/4" so total would be 5- 5/16"
