    Comments about Bostik Moisture Barrier:

I am not happy at all with this product. I installed it according to the instructions and found that it left trowel marks (3/16 x 5/16 V notch trowel) 12 hours later after drying. The product was acclimated in the same room as the installation for five days. The room temperature was a constant 74 deg F. The instructions give you the impression that it is somewhat self leveling. IT IS Not. After drying I could see the floor in several places where the trowel points were in contact with the floor.

It is like thick molasses, and dries to a thick rubber cement consistency. Very easy to apply a bit to thick and so coverage was about 3/4 what the can actually suggests.

Used as moisture barrier over concrete slab before installing hardwood flooring.

Some reviews stated the product smelled but I didn't observe that at all.

To seal the slab befor hardwood installation. It really gives you confidence about sealing out moisture. Especially because my last installer really didn't take any sealing precautions which resulted in floor buckling. This time I know, the installer took extra precautions to fix my slab and to seal it before installing the hardware floors. Great!!

Used this product as a mositure barrier (although I never had a moisture issue) for my concrete slab and this also doubled as a sound proofer as well. This is thick and will need to be mixed/stirred prior to use. The benefits it added were great and I would recommend this product for your next slab installation.

MVP remains tacky even when dry to allow for additional adhesive bond when gluing down hardwood.
There are several products available at your local home center in the flooring dep't. that can be rolled on your slab and will seal you floor.

I had laminate flooring which I pulled up when I discovered a moisture problem. Should I use Bostik MVP to seal the concrete? Do I still lay plastic on concrete as moisture barrier when I replace with some new flooring and remaining laminate boards. I have been advised not to seal concrete. There was a lot of moisture and I have not found any leaks.

Yes. Troweled on Moisture Barrier is recommended if subfloor is on or below grade concrete. Always use the same manufacturer of moisture barrier and adhesive or combo type adhesive moisture barrier.
