Schön Engineered- 5/16" x 4" Brazilian Koa Engineered Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

Wood floors and water don't mix.  But, Schön Engineered Floors are a perfect match for all areas of the home including those with a higher moisture content like: basements, bathrooms, kitchens, concrete sub-floors, and below grade installation.

Schön Floors come in beautiful exotic and domestic species and a 30 year warranty.

Quick Highlights:
- Solid Hardwood Wear Layer
- Superior strength and Stability
- Covered by a 30 Year Warranty
- Nail or Glue Down

About Brazilian Koa:
Brazilian Koa, often called Tigerwood, is truly one of the most unique and exotic looking species used in flooring.
Brazilian Koa has a distinct dark orange color with brownish/black striping which is where it gets it's namesake. Brazilian Koa's exotic beauty and durability make it stand out from the crowd and it is an outstanding choice for the discriminating home owner looking for that unique and enviable flooring no other neighbor has.

About Engineered Flooring:
Hardwood veneer layers are stacked on one another, with the grain of the adjacent layers oriented perpendicular to each other.
Because wood expands and contracts in the direction of the grain, one layer stabilizes the next, resulting in a product that is less susceptible to the effects of moisture & temperature change.

Don't forget the molding and stair treads!

We put the Brazilian Koa Engineered wood in our Master Bedroom. It matched beautifully with our Pine furniture but would really match with almost any shade because it has a lot of variety. It has a shine on the top but is supposed to be a hardy wood. So far it has held up beautifully with our pets and toddler, but it has only been a week! It really classed up our bedroom and looks gorgeous!

      Very nice but very thin

      Best Uses

      • Low Traffic Zone

This flooring is gorgeous and goes down very easy, however, the plank itself and more importantly, the veneer is wafer thin. I would personally recommend going up to one of the slightly thicker boards, as the veneer on those is about 1/16" of an inch, and the veneer on this is probably 1/64"

Bottom line, it doesn't cost much to go up to a thicker version, and I would recommend that you do so.

      • Q:

Is the engineered hardwood durable enough to stand up to small dogs and cats?
Asked on 5/25/2013 by HRC from Ohio

        1 answer

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

      • Q:

Will this flooring get darker and more red?
Asked on 2/5/2013 by Bruce from Cape May Nj

        1 answer

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

Yes it will depending on the type and amount of light it is exposed to.
All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.
