Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- Backed by a 30 Year Warranty

Carbonized
Steamed bamboo, caramelizing the sugar within to change its color.

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

we installed the flooring in a living room and den in our Condo in Florida. could not have been more pleased with the result. this was our first experience installing thin wood flooring.

        Service and delivery comments:

we ordered and paid for the materials at our local store in ohio and arranged to pick up the order at the store close to our florida home. very convenient at both locations.

        Excellent product

        By DPH

        from Auburn, AL

        Pros

        • Easy To Install
        • Solid product, well made
        • Sturdy click lock system
        • Very few surface flaws
        • Very handsome "grain"

        Cons

        • none

        Best Uses

I found this product very easy to install. The milling of each and every board was nearly perfect and I found very few flaws on the upper surfaces. My waste was minimal. In fact, I ordered about 10% extra, but I ended up with enough left over to cover another small corridor. I like the thick planks and substantial click-lock tongue and groove. The finished installation looks great. It is a very hard material but cuts cleanly with miter saw, table saw, jig saw, and oscillating multi-tool using proper blades. The range of patterns and color/values is varied and interesting and makes for a less monotonous floor. I marked all my cuts with a Sharpie, which wiped off cleanly with a little rubbing alcohol and paper towel. I certainly recommend this product (Morningstar 1/2 x 5 inch solid carbonized strand bamboo) and I am so very glad I didn't opt for a thinner engineered bamboo veneer flooring at a similar price at the big box DIY store. Note: this flooring is dense and heavy. Be prepared for a good workout lifting and moving boxes. Doable for a person of average strength, but after shuffling multiple boxes you might wish you had a second pair of hands.

          Service and delivery comments:

I ordered online and had it shipped to store for pick up. It came quickly. The local store didn't like the look of two thresholds in my order, so he reordered them for me and had them delivered directly to my home.

I love the floor and the look. It has made all the rooms look larger. It is very dent resistant. I have had the floors in since August 2012 and I now have a 2 year old who drops all of his toys on the floor. I even have bookends that have dropped multiple times in the same spot and don't have a dent. The floor does scratch rather easily. I have scratches on the floor from my 2 year old's toys. Most of them disappear when I use the Bellawood hardwood cleaner though.

We installed this floor in our kitchen. It's beautiful, but it seems to scratch easier then I thought it should. It is colored all the way thru so a bit of matte finish polyurethane should fix that right up. We hope. It seems pretty hard and durable so far, but we haven't used it in every day life yet.

We had nearly 1900 square feet of our main level done in the Bellawood Carbonized Strand Bamboo. This was a decision that we came about after doing TONS of research. We brought home over 20 different flooring samples and tried to test them against typical 'damage' (scratching, banging with a hammer, moisture etc). The Carbonized Strand Bamboo came out on top and we have not been disappointed. We have just had our 1 year anniversary in this new house and the flooring looks as amazing as it did the 1st week it was laid down. We chose a floating floor with the premium underlayment and have been very happy with this decision. There is no noise or squeaking and the floor feels secure. When we completed the renovations in this house, we wanted to remain as green as possible. By using a sustainable product (bamboo) and avoiding a glue-down application, we were able to accomplish this goal. We have 2 children under the age of 7 and 2 dogs (one is 75 lbs). We are tough on our floors but the Carbonized Strand Bamboo is very durable, scratch and dent resistant and has a beautiful finish. By using the microfiber dust mop to "sweep" and the Bellawood floor cleaner with microfiber mop, the floors remain as beautiful as the day they were installed. I have never been happier with a purchase and so glad we chose this floor.

Lumber Liquidators did a great job with the measurement, quoting the job and installation. I will happily use them again in the future.

While the install looks great, there are some dips in the floor as no efforts were made to get it level. The install crew worked fast and completed the project ahead of schedule. They also helped us resolve some air pockets in the baseboard area before the flooring was installed. We were concerned about the color variations in the Carb Strand Bamboo as our sample was darker than we would have liked--very happy with the end result as it is the color that we wanted.

                                Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was made on time and by a very diligent employee--our floor pieces/parts weighed 2,500 pounds so he worked hard! Measure/appraisal was also done within one week of request.

                                          A:

Carbonized or caramelizing is not a top stain but a manufacturing process. Natural bamboo is placed into a Carbonized over. Once in the oven pressure, steam, and heat are used to alter the color of the natural bamboo stems, changing them into the caramel brown color.

I have purchased a large amount of the Mourning Star carbonized Bamboo flooring for a new home. We have been given a lot of suggestions on installation as far as Acclimation any where from 72 hours to 3 weeks. Is there something specific we are looking for in the acclamation process? and How long do you recommend?

Yes under the fridge & oven but usually the flooring is not installed under a dishwasher (just under the front "adjustable legs" & then the cover plate will make it look finished).
