Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- Natural Grade
- Backed by a 30 Year Warranty

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

Nice packaging. Perfect cuts very straight zero warping. Only thing I found unusual was the color variations per board. Some much lighter than others. All in all a real nice product to work with. Watch the splinters and work with gloves. Lays perfectly straight.

I bought about 400 sq feet of this wood to put down in my family room and dinning room. It turned out amazing. It's been extremely durable and scratch resistant. I have a pug with sharp nails that likes to scramble his feet and slide all over the floor, and so far, no scratches. I liked this flooring so much I just bought another 150 sq feet to put down in my office that I'm remodeling. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

We used this floor in our 12x11 Dining Room. We achieved a warm, inviting room that looks top notch. My husband and I didn't have the budget for hardwood, but we wanted bamboo anyway! It looks great on our floors and is very sturdy. I would recommend this product to those wanting to achieve a sophisticated, but not stuffy, dining area. We did have a few broken pieces in some of the boxes, but luckily we still had enough to finish the room.

We have a stained concrete slab, and the stain was done poorly. Been looking for 5 yrs for something to stand up to pets and provide a nice color at a decent price.
did Office, Living room and Master bedroom (950sqft) and it went in easy (float), and looks amazing. So much so we did the master and front hall closets too.. another 200sqft. (had to buy more!). The master closet is the most shockingly better..
we used every last piece, so now I have to find 3-4 more for spares.. (1/2 box).

I had to purchase an additional box of flooring due to a shortage in the estimate. The trim around our front door was damaged by the installers when they were removing the old hardwood entrance and no one has made an attempt to correct it yet.

We love our new floors! The price was close to some hardwoods, but we knew we didn't want to go with laminate. We had concrete floors that weren't perfect, and wanted an economical alternative, so looked at floating re-engineered clickables first. Our LL rep pointed us to bamboo, and at first we were totally skeptical. Bamboo hasn't had a good reputation. But the carbonized strand bamboo was thick, gorgeous, and looks and feels like hardwoods once installed. Although we had one bad spot we had to have ground down in our concrete floor, the rest of the flooring floated beautifully over the existing concrete. It looks, feels, and sounds like hardwood. And it's so durable! We have dropped so many things on it we thought would mark it forever, but that stuff is tough! We managed one ding when a claw-foot hammer was dropped from chest-height, but it barely dented the surface, and a tiny drop of stain will cover that one nick. We are so happy with our choice and I would recommend it to anyone who can't do real hardwoods and doesn't care for the fake sound and look of laminates.

This flooring completely transformed our living room/dining room. The color is absolutely beautiful! We installed 400 sf and only found 2 boards with any defects. It took my husband and friend less than a day to install it. Wear gloves to prevent splinters.
The floor cleaned up easily after the installation using my vacuum on the bare floor setting and then a microfiber mop and the Bellawood floor cleaner. I hope it will remain as beautiful as it is today. The color is like an aged cognac cherry with a caramel undertone when the sun shines on it. It is just beautiful. Dust will show since it is a medium shade, but it is easy to clean with a microfiber mop or vacuum on bare floor setting.
The floor seems very durable, I accidentally knocked my vacuum cleaner over and it didn't leave a dent, and our dog has been running around on the floor without any noticeable damage.
Our entire experience with Lumber Liquidators was so positive, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They even adjusted the price for us when the flooring went on sale shortly after we purchased it. Great experience all around!

Yes, bamboo is acceptable for installation in a powder room. It is recommend to put a throw rug by the sink because an excess water can damage wood. You will need to wipe up any water that sit on the floor as soon as possible. However a full bathroom that is showered in everyday may not be the best location for bamboo. Often there is too much water on the floor or humidity that can be absorbed into the flooring resulting in board edge cupping. Resilient and Tile floors are a better choice for these areas. MORNING STAR bamboo flooring should not be used over in-floor heating and no warranties are expressed.
If you choose to do so note these five tips.
                                                  1. Follow the instructions from the supplier of the floor heating system.
                                                  2. Concrete subfloors must be installed and cured a minimum of 60 days.
                                                  3. The heating system must be in operation for at least two weeks before installation to dissipate any residual moisture. During installation, the system may be turned off or set to a suitable installation temperature 60 -80°F, humidity 30 -50%.
                                                  4. Adjust the heating system gradually; the heating surface temperature must not exceed 85°F. Add humidification as needed.
                                                  5. Over dry conditions and excessive surface heat can create problems with the finish, board gapping and splits

I am sure you have concerns with the Bamboo as some people do.
Bamboo does have a distinct pungent, odor that is somewhat unpleasant when you are not used to the smell of Bamboo flooring. If you add in the fact that it sits for quite some time in a ship hold, boxed and wrapped in plastic. So its only natural that it release an initial smell from the finish as does any product that has been pre-finished and boxed up in this manor for this length of time.
However the good news is it should quickly dissipate.
It is also important to realize that some people are hypersensitive to certain odors and chemicals that the majority of us do not.
The Morning Star has a Free Gaseous formaldehyde of less than 0.75 ppm, which is less than 0.1% which is significantly lower than the requirement set forth by the controlling councils.
All of our laminates, "composite" wood and engineered products are all CARB Phase II compliant and is stated so on the outside packaging. Starting January 1, 2009, California began regulating the formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products (particleboard, MDF, and hardwood plywood) sold in the state or used to make finished goods offered for sale in the state of California. The Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) is known as the "CARB rule." All products containing composite wood products must comply with this regulation.
So to answer your question, in a word. Yes; It is a absolutely safe for you and your family.

Only short fill in boards and the last row of boards need to be glued along the length.
You could glue all the joints but would make repairs difficult in the future.

We had Fuyang Bamboo flooring installed in Oct-Nov of 2012. We allowed a week of acclimation time prior to install. We are now experiencing gapping between planks. Installer has done many floating floor installs, and not sure of what may be causing this. Overall..we are very pleased with the look of the flooring, but really need to look to resolve this situation with the gapping. Any help is appreciated

All wood and bamboo products are affected by environmental conditions especially prefinished materials. Acclimate the new flooring in the areas to be installed to normal lived-in conditions while in the boxes. If products are protected in plastic, only open the ends of the boxes. To prevent board warping, twisting or bowing, only cut the outside plastic support packaged bindings when ready to install. Length of acclimation time is not the determining factor. The goal is to reach an indoor equilibrium or environmental balance between the “core” of the new flooring with its surroundings before installation. This balance could be achieved in as little as 1 to 5 days, or longer for some exotic species. For best performance, condition the flooring to consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Very dry or humid regions of the country usually require extended conditioning. Recommended acclimation levels maintained even after the installation will help to minimize board movement, excessive squeaks and gaps. Proper jobsite conditions, acclimation and moisture testing the subfloor and new flooring and all work together for the success of the installation. Excessive squeaks and gapping can result from poor or no acclimation or very low humidity. Increased humidity can return flooring to normal. Seasonal gapping is normal when humidity drops due to heating.
