Purchased a home and had this floor installed in living room, dining room, office, kitchen, stairs, landing, loft and hallways. The floors are stunning, the color and variations are beyond beautiful and walking on the floors feels so good, BUT the wood is too soft. I had red oak in my previous home and it dented and scratched, this time I was looking for something harder and was told by the LL personell that this flooring was hardder and my research also showed this, but I must disagree. This wood is by far softer and shows the slightest scratch, I found that the wood is so soft that if I push my nail in the wood it leaves an impression (I was just curios and had to try)! So I am torn, the wood is beyond my expectations with beauty and appearance, but I am very disappointed with the softneess (janka rating) and I am regreatting having it installed before I moved in (a lot of scratches during the move) and in my kitchen. So many dents and scratches after a few months it is heart breaking. I am now researching ways to get rid of the big and more obvious scratches/dents. I would recomment to a friend only if they put it in rooms that had little traffic and were rarely used, but NOT the kitchen.

I love this wood for its color and the layout but from the time we layed it down it does not hide the scratches and dents very well. Overall I would say that it is a great product. If I were to use it again I would not put this wood in the kitchen.
