Very beautiful product!

By The faster pastor

from Palm Bay, FL

It is the floor in all the rooms of our house except the bedrooms. It's beautiful, functional, and comfortable. The only drawback is having to put protective feet on all the chairs and other furniture to protect the floor.

Service and delivery comments:

The flooring came in earlier then was scheduled at the store and was in excellent condition. Not even one plank was marred and had to be wasted!

Thin but easy to install. Good if you have a concrete foundation that sweats. Needs thick backing since it flexes.

Great Flooring

By emjay

from Schaumburg, IL

Pros

  • Easy to clean
  • Looks Grat
  • Looks great
  • Super easy to install

Cons

  • Inconsistent finish

Best Uses

This flooring was easy to install. I even made a mistake with the underlayment and had to UN-install most of it and then put it back down again, which wasn't a bad process due to the click design.

However, the one downside to this product is that many of the vinyl planks had scratches or an inconsistent finish. Out of 10 boxes, I'd say that 10% of the flooring had these issues. I saved those planks for the closet and areas that were not noticeable rather than return them.

But overall a great product ... it looks great!

This floor has a 50 year guarantee. I am not sure what that means. Time will tell, but many pieces were bad in the box. Floor isn't completely installed yet so time will tell

    DYI Flooring for Basement

    By Ginny

    from Cincinnati, OH

    Verified Reviewer

Placed this over a padded heated flooring system in basement. 4mm thinness means some lumps from the heating wires, but tolerable. This doesn't snap together as easily as laminate, and requires finesse and muscle at times. Very easy to cut. Used mat knife, straight edge and tin snips for custom install. Took 4 days to install 500 sq ft mostly due to many custom fittings under doorways and stairs. Looks great, feels much kinder to feet than cement floor. Works with the padded heating system.

Used the 4mm Sonoma Mountain Walnut Click Resilient Vinyl in our finished basement. The color is excellent and it really warms up the room. And should there be a little water there are no worries. Easy clean up.

        Problems with some older material

        By Dave at Ghurtie's

        from Coralville, IA

        Verified Reviewer

The first 13 boxes that I purchased appeared like they might have been in the warehouse for a long time. During installation I found many of the pieces to be bowed and stiff, which made it very difficult to lock the planks together. When laid next to a straight edge many bows measured 3/16". I stopped after using three boxes in one small office. Once the remainder of my order arrived (13 more boxes) it was easy to see the difference. While they looked the same (no problem with color differences) the new pieces were straight and more flexible. I didn't want to fight with the old pieces, so I called the shop. The guys were great (you have good people at the store). They did allow me to exchange the old boxes for new, though it was a bit of extra time and driving to Cedar Rapids. I was able to finish the project and most of it looks great. The only concern I have now is with the first room that was completed with the old product. A few joints are now starting to separate. The base is on and the room's filled with office furniture and equipment -- so I'm a bit worried about the time and expense of redoing that room if it gets much worse. Thanks for your time in reading this.

        Sincerely,

        Dave Munson

            DURABILITY
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage any floor's finish.
Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

so much material, all about what NOT to clean with.. so a simple question, vacuuming does not clean a dirty floor, only loose dirt, so what do I clean with.. Can I use vinegar to a gallon of water, can I clean with a little Clorox in my water for sanitizing? Products like Mr Clean, Pine-sol multi-surface? I put this floor in a rental property, I would like to give the tenants a simple answer as to what to use to clean with. thanks

            A:

As with any manufacturer: We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor.
This vinyl may cleaned with these products mentioned but you could get a "build-up" of non recommended cleaners that may dull the finish.

        • Q:

Hi, I purchased approx. 800 ft3 of Tranquility 4mm vinyl click flooring from Lumber Liquidators one year ago and installed it myself. The installation went fine, but over the course of a year, a couple of planks have separated (or "un-clicked"), esp. at the base of the stairs where the kids run down and 'push' the flooring in one direction constantly creating a lot of stress in that part of the flooring. Is their a way to 're-click' it back together again without having to remove a few hundred sq. ft of flooring from the closest wall? There's no damage to the interlocking system, just needs to be re-clicked together. Maybe glue it as well so it doesn't happen again?

          Thanks,

          Tony

Yes you should be able to do a "spot/area repair" with this solid vinyl product, being flexible a hair dryer or heat gun can be used to soften the planks for adjustment & re-clicking together.
Loctite- Super Glue- Gel control can be used in the joints to help prevent them coming apart again.

Can you install the floor prior to installing the cabinets and appliances? If not, why?

            A:

            Unfortunately not.
All floating floors require that cabinets or fixed objects be installed before installing the new planks. Do not install under kitchen cabinets.
This a floating floor that will expand and contract, cabinets will prevent the floor from moving "freely" and can buckle or separate.
