Dream Home- 10mm Lake Toba Acacia Laminate Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

Dream Home's line of laminate floors will fill your home with harmonious style.
This product has it all: a 10mm moisture-resistant core PLUS a 2mm pre-glued sound-proofing foam underlay, the feel of real wood grain and a 30 year warranty.

Quick Installation Tips:
- Designed for glue-less laying, and must be laid as a "floating floor".
- Subfloor must be clean, flat, smooth, and level.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of Bellawood Platinum, Bellawood Premium, Quiet Walk or the Eco Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments offer best joint/seam support while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities, these properties are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

No regrets!

Pros

  • Great look. Easy to install.
  • No broken joints during install
  • Price is reasonable.

Cons

  • None so far.

Best Uses

I replaced sheet vinyl in the kitchen, hallway and entry. I replace carpet in the dining room. It was about 350 square feet. I have never attempted a project like this. My wife is pleased with the results. That is all that counts. Do your prep work, and be sure to wear knee pads. I recommend the SKILL 3601 Flooring Saw to make your cuts.

    Service and delivery comments:

      Cons

      • Locking mechanism very fragile

      Best Uses

I used this laminate to replace carpeting in our living room, 14 x 13 and a 12 foot x 3 hall. Installed it myself as Ive done many laminate floors prior to this one. The main issue I have with this product is the locking tabs, they are basically cardboard composite and are very very fragile. With a fingernail you can snap a portion of them off. One little mistake and you've ruined a large portion of the board, relegating it to an end piece. Unfortunately I had to pull up a couple rows because of a defect in a tile previously un-noticed, and in pulling up those rows broke off several of the end piece locking tabs. This product was rated 'good' in the lumber liquidators rating system. Next time around I will look more closely at the locking system of these tiles before purchasing.

The wood grain finish on the teak flooring is great. We really love the the top of the line moisture absorbing padding. Makes the flooring seem soft and no squeaky noise when you walk on it.

        Cons

        • Poor interlocking

        Best Uses

We love the look of the floor but putting down, kind of difficult interlocking because of the weak cardboard, press board used. Several of them would break off when pushing together with the necessary tools causing problem with hiding the seams.

          Very Nice

          By dale

          from alabama

I have done my whole home in this laminate,it is one click but make sure its completely together before using the bumper or it will chip,i have very minimal waste and this was the first time ever installing laminate in my life,i had some weird 20 degree angles around the fireplace in the den and it went smooth, the floor looks great in all rooms, the only problem I had was my wife decided every room needed painting, lots better than the carpet that we had,i wouldn't go below 10mm and I also like the preattached pad,i layed over solid double 3/4 plywood floors but I still used a vapor barrier for added protection, well worth the money and the matching quarter round just made it complete

          Service and delivery comments:

I bought directly from the Montgomery Alabama store and the staff was excellant

          Nice appearance, quality somewhat lacking

          By acegeotech

          from Barefoot Bay, FL

Love the look of the finished project. I was disappointed in the quality aspect of the laminate in that I found some of the pieces irregular in dimensioning. Checked with calipers and found as much as 3/64" discrepancy.

What is AC rating 3 mean?
Asked on 10/8/2015 by jd1955 from Flagstaff, Az

            1 answer

            • Staff Reviewer

              A:

              What is an AC rating?
The common term used to denote the durability level of laminate flooring is its, Abrasion Criteria or "AC" rating. AC ratings are an abbreviated representation of a laminate's overlay film resistance to abrasion, impact, stains and cigarette burns. The ratings also indicate that the product has been tested for the effects of furniture legs, castors, and swelling along its edges. When a laminate flooring product has a rating, then it has passed all of the test criteria. Failing just one test will disqualify a product.
The AC rating levels are designated AC1 through AC5. Each is represented by international pictographs reflecting the product's application and durability. The primary application is divided into two groups: residential and commercial. Each group is further divided into traffic intensity levels: moderate, general, or heavy. An AC1 rating which is the lowest should only be used in light-traffic areas. At the other end of the scale is AC5 which is produced for the commercial market and for use in very high-traffic areas. A laminate flooring rating of AC2 or AC3 is found on flooring tailored to the domestic and residential market. As can be seen, Laminate ratings are beneficial to customers for product comparison shopping. If you are tempted by some very cheap laminate flooring, be cautious, you may find that it hasn't received any type of AC rating indicating it failed to meet the minimum requirements. During product testing, if it fails on just one single test, then approval for that laminate flooring rating is denied. For residential use, a rating of AC3 is perfectly adequate. Typically the higher the laminate flooring rating, the higher the price may be. The test devised for abrasion resistance. Thank you for your inquiry.
