EXMORE EX3 Urethane Adhesive

Fast-Set Wood-Flooring Adhesive

DESCRIPTION

EXMORE EX3 Urethane Adhesive is a fast-cure, 100%-solids, moisture-cure, urethane, gun-grade adhesive designed for quick bonding of starter rows for wood flooring, wood-stair nosing and baseboards, as well as wood-flooring repairs.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Guns easily and has excellent green strength
  • Fast curing for overnight repairs
  • High bond strength and resilient

WHERE TO USE

For the bonding of all types of wood flooring, wood-stair nosing and baseboards to common substrates

LIMITATIONS

  • Do not install over any substrates containing asbestos.
  • Do not apply over any adhesive residues, including cutback adhesive.
  • Do not use when the substrate is below 20F (-7C) or above 100F (38C). Low temperatures and humidity will extend cure times.
  • Do not use as a substitute for screws when installing plywood subfloors. All plywood subfloors must be installed according to APA or CANPLY guidelines.

SUITABLE SUBSTRATES

  • Exterior-grade plywood and other approved wood underlayments (per the wood-flooring manufacturer's recommendations)
  • Concrete and properly prepared cement terrazzo
  • Existing and properly prepared ceramic tile
  • Cement-based self-leveling underlayments and patching compounds
  • Properly prepared and primed gypsum underlayments that meet the requirements for compressive strength according to ASTM F2419
  • Radiant-heat systems that have been properly installed

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

  • All substrates must be structurally sound, dry, solid and stable.
  • The substrate should be clean and free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, curing agents, concrete sealers, loosely bonded toppings, loose particles, old adhesive residues, and any other substance or condition that may prevent or reduce adhesion.
  • Concrete and cement-based underlayments and patches must be fully cured and free of any hydrostatic and/or moisture problems.

MIXING STEPS

NOTE: Wear all appropriate personal safety equipment during use. Refer to the MSDS for more information.

  • Ready to use; no mixing necessary

PRODUCT APPLICATION

1.    Read all installation instructions thoroughly prior to installation.

2.    Insert the cartridge into a suitable caulking gun.

3.    Cut the tip and puncture the inner seal.

4.    Apply a serpentine bead of adhesive to the properly prepared substrate.

5.    Only apply as much adhesive as can be installed within 30 minutes under normal temperature and humidity conditions.

6.    Set time may be accelerated by a light misting of water over the extruded adhesive prior to installing materials to be bonded. (Do not puddle water.)

CLEANUP

  • IMMEDIATELY clean any adhesive smudges from the flooring material's surface with mineral spirits while the adhesive is still fresh/wet.
NOTE: EXMORE EX3 Adhesive can only be removed by mechanical means when cured.
  • IMMEDIATELY clean tools with mineral spirits.

PROTECTION

  • Protect from light traffic for at least 12 hours. Protect from heavy traffic for at least 24 hours.
  • Building owners should be advised of the wood-flooring manufacturer's guidelines for climate-control settings (temperature and humidity). These conditions must be monitored and kept constant in order to ensure the overall performance and long-term success of the installation.
