Improper Storage of Wood Flooring
What is improper storage of the wood flooring?
Improper storage of the flooring can lead to many floor problems. Storing materials on an unprotected garage floor, bare concrete slabs or out buildings can allow the wood to soak up moisture which can affect the milling and finish of the flooring. If flooring is installed under these poor conditions it can under-go stress, cupping, checking or cracking of the finish, even gapping as it tries to equalize itself to the new indoor humidity levels. To get the best from your floor, indoor acclimation is needed to prevent "shock" to the flooring before and after installation.
