What is Laminate Flooring?

What is laminate flooring?

Laminate flooring is a man-made product typically constructed with a high density fiber board core sandwiched in-between a melamine laminate backing, making them very water resistant, though not water proof. On the surface is a high quality photographic paper that has an image of wood or ceramic topped with abrasion resistant wear layer. Laminates with an (AC 3) Abrasion Criteria rating of 3 are well suited for light commercial applications.  Laminates are great choices for radiant heat and cement installations. Many laminates are equipped with a pre-attached pad on the back. Warranty duration in years are related to wear layer durability, and warrantees are only applicable to normal foot traffic. Warranties do not cover scratches, dents, and other site related damage.
