Fixing a Crack in My Butcher Block

How can I repair a crack in my butcher's block?

First clean out the crack with acetone to remove dirt, stains or oils.  Then use a match book cover or something like it to force wood glue deep into the crack.  Next place a bar-clamp across it pulling the gap closed.  Wipe off any excess wet glue.  Allow to cure at least 8 hours, then sand off any glue that remains and re-finish. Center cracks can be filled with water resistant wood fillers before re-finishing.
