Ligno DX/C Moisture Meter Settings

Building Materials: Setting 41:

For sheetrock and gypsum Moisture readings are in percent.

Setting 0:

A reference scale for all other building materials.

If possible use a dry sample to establish a base value and compare all readings to this base value. Higher values indicate more moisture.

See also manual pages 1.3 and 2.2 for measuring building materials.

When LEDs get dim, exchange 9 V battery. Remove screw on back, open into 2 halves.

The green cap, which covers the pins is removed and placed on the other end of the meter. The cap fits your hand for easy pin insertion. To obtain a reading, push the pins into the material to be measured. As the pins are inserted, the on-off switch is automatically pushed down and the red numbers indicate a moisture reading. For deeper measurements use longer pins (stored in the back of the case). Before taking a measurement check and change wood species or material settings according to the list on the back of this card.

Check/Change Settings: Wait until the meter is off. Then double click on-off switch between pins by hand. A yellow number indicates settings between 0 and 41. While yellow number is displayed, click on/off switch again to change settings or keep on-off switch pressed down to fast forward settings. Wait until meter is off before taking a new measurement.

Wood: Moisture readings are indicated in percent and corrected for a wood temperature of 70F (20C). For higher or lower wood temperatures use correction table in manual.
