By Ray Cotton, Lumber Liquidators’ Chief Compliance & Sustainability Officer
Lumber Liquidators is pleased to announce that it has been accepted as a member of the Forestry Legality Alliance (FLA).
The World Resources Institute and the Environmental Investigation Agency, with support from the United States Agency for International Development, launched the Forest Legality Alliance in 2010 to address the economic, social and environmental challenges posed by illegal logging.
As noted on its website, “The Alliance is an international, multi-stakeholder initiative designed to achieve better forest governance and biodiversity conservation by reducing demand for illegally harvested forest products and increasing the capacity of supply chains to deliver legal wood and paper.”
My colleagues and I are excited to work with FLA and its members on issues relating to illegal logging and the support of the supply of legal forest products.
